Power Cut!
An accident has caused a power cut effecting 71 properties tonight, including the Londonthorpe Surgery. With no power the telephone diversion to the on call Vet will not be in operation. It is worth noting or reminding clients that in such circumstances calls can be made to the Sleaford surgery or vice versa if Sleaford is having the problems. BT are currently also unable to re-direct telephone calls but this is something we are working on and hopefully by the end of July we will be able to re-direct telephone calls to avoid problems caused by electric or telephone failure. Apologies for any inconvenience.

MicroChipping Month
June 2006 is national MicroChipping Month, to promote identification of pets to enable their safe return to owners when lost or stolen, or if involved in an accident. MicroChipping involves the insertion of a small microchip the size of a piece of grain, under the animals skin, leaving a permanent identification of the owners. Vets, Rescue societies and Police all have scanners which are used as a matter of course on any apparently ownerless dog to see if they are chipped. A national database holds details of owners enabling their contact. To help promote MicroChipping Month, we are offering this service at a cost of just £12.50 during June 2006. This quick, painless and relatively cheap procedure can ensure your pet can be returned to you if he or she ever goes missing.

Although we will have some disruption through to Tuesday, we are open as normal and the care and attention the animals receive will not be affected. The only inconveniences will be to the staff and human clients! We will be back to normal on Wednesday and I am sure the new floor will be worth any disruption caused. Thank you for your understanding. |

New Lab!
We are very pleased to annouce that we are now in receipt of a complete new lab, replacing previous equipment which was beginning to show its age! The new equipment will enable us to perform many more tests in house, giving quicker results (minutes instead of a couple of days!) and reducing the cost to the client. We will also be receiving new equipment in July this year, being one of the first(if not the first) practice in the country to receive this new piece of kit to enable us to perform blood gases. Very exciting for all the staff, and will help us to give even better clinical care and service to our patients and clients.

BB3
Our open day and car boot last Sunday was a big success, only spoilt very slightly by a rain shower. I would like to thank everyone who came down to help us celebrate three years in the new surgery and especially the staff who were still here at 3.45pm as people were still arriving! We were busy all day, registering new clients, taking tours of our facilities, microchipping, and of course the busy car boot! Our donation for National Pet Week has been sent, last year we finished second in the national awards for best event and this years was even better so thank you to everyone involved!

Wheelie Bins!!!!
Radio Lincolnshire have spent some time discussing the various wheelie bins which we all have now, and several people enquired about where to get numbers to go on their bins so they always get their bin back and not someone elses which may be more smelly! Well at the Sleaford Surgery we have a selection on animal related wheelie bin numbers, aswell as general sticker signs and even tax disc holders. Come in and have a look, or if easier for you to go to Londonthorpe, if you give some notice we can take some over for you to look at! (We only have one display holder at present which is why they are not on show at Londonthorpe!)
