Practical exams
| Well the practical exams were as bad as expected. It was even worse to travel to Preston to do them. At least Sheffield was only 45 min away. In the practical exams we were set 2x 6 min tasks in 4 subjects. The different subjects are Surgical inc Anaesthesia, Radiography, Laboratory and Medical inc Fluid therapy. The task i (Karen) found the easiest was Radiography and Hayleys favourite was Laboratory. The tasks ranged from bandaging to preparing urine sediment for microscopy so there was a good range. We now both wait for our results on August 25th (Can't wait).

THE DAY AFTER THE DAY BEFORE
Oh well the written exams are over we are both in need of alcahol they were horrible 10x worse than last year. The morning exam was Medical/ Lab and Fluids (After spending Wed evening revising Incubation periods of infectious diseases the was no questions on this subject). The afternoon exam was Surgical/ Anaesthesia and 6 questions of exotics . This exam had to be the worst experience of my life and i am just so looking forward to Tuesday (Hayley practical) and Thursday (Karen practical)they can't be as bad as yesterday!!!!!

Karens Course Progress Report
Mock Exam Result - Surgical/Anaesthesia: 74% - Medical/Lab: 78% Latest Test Results - Blood Transfusion: 67% - Lab Chemistry: 66% - Faecal Examination: 100%. Attendance level: 89% Good - Results in weekly tests: 78% Good - Progress with VN portfolio 93% Good - Tutors opinion re exam success: Good with additional revision. - Tutors comments: 'Karens attendance has been good this term with only one day missed. She has been working hard and has produced an average of 78% in her weekly tests which is promising. Her surgical/anaesthesia mock exam result is good and although the medical/lab mock result was a little lower than anticipated with further revision and support from practice with her practical skills I am sure Karen will be well prepared for the summer examinations. Progress with the portfolio is good and I am aware Karen is just waiting for evidence to present, I would encourage completion as soon as possible to enable early listing on receiving examination results. Progress with the workbooks is going well with both radiography and surgical/anaesthesia complete and work continuing on medical. I would encourage Karen to complete the medical workbook as soon as possible to ensure she has met the recommended VRQ training hours'
